Hello Ladies and Gents! Amongst the plethora of new teams entering the community at this point in time, we see many of them battling it out for a chance to catch the eyes of CEVO Selectors in order to warrant a good spot for their skills in higher CEVO grades. One such team, who has now become an organisation as well, is the "Mousegazm". Mousegazm, while noticed for it's very odd choice of team name, has struck out since last ODC, placing highly and leaving a mark on the community to remember. I managed to catch up with the upcoming fragger and captain of Mousegazm, John "Deebs" Nolan.
AKS: Thanks for joining me Deebs.
mGZM.deebS: No problem mate. Thanks for interviewing me.
AKS: What is the current Mousegazm lineup and it's roles in the team?
mGZM.deebS: Our current lineup stands at SubNoize, ZoltaN, Meki, iMrdR, jabz and myself.
Deebee: I'm the caller of the team, I'm fairly versatile I can awp rifle and play any position. Wartype: Our team awper, he gets the crucial picks we need and can win games. ZoltaN: He serves as backup awper and a main rifler, he has an incredible ability to frag and can often open up sites comfortably. Jabz: The team support player, he gets the picks and backs people up well. SubNoize: A versatile player who can awp or rifle, him and I often find ourselves working together alot, hes a strong player. Meki: Much like ZoltaN gets critical frags, his aim is insane and he rarely misses points. He’s very good to have in pressure situations.
AKS: Seeing as it's a 6man lineup, does it rotate a lot? Or do you have a fixed reserve?
mGZM.deebS: At the moment we don't have a reserve as people are going on holidays and everyone seems to be playing. We haven't decided on who will be reserve at this stage.
AKS: I notice the Mousegazm crew brought this lineup to the last ODC instead of their original lineup when it was first made. What's the cause of the reshuffle?
mGZM.deebS: At the completion of the ODC we removed Reptile and added Meki to the team. A few weeks later Subberz then left to join mTmc (trick and bzy's new team) so we decided to pickup Zoltan as we had been playing with him over a few weeks.
AKS: And has the lineup been gelling well since picking up Meki and Zoltan?
mGZM.deebS: The lineup has chemistry far past its time, in scrims its as though we've been playing together for a year. But it's probably to be expected as Meki, Wartype and Zoltan all played in Sublime together. Nevertheless things are going well.
AKS: What is the team aiming for at present and do you believe that goal is reachable?
mGZM.deebS: At the moment personally I'm just aiming for CEVO-I and hopefully winning but the team is aiming at playing CEVO-P in the next season. Which I do think is reachable at the rate we are improving, we practice most nights and things are looking good.
AKS: Do you feel that the rumor of you getting "carried" will be quelled if this team goes large?
mGZM.deebS: I wasn't aware of this rumor if there is such a thing its a joke. I hold my own in just about any other team and go large just as much as any other in the team. If I was being carried I would be kicked, obviously seeing as I’m in the team now I’m at the same standard. I’ll also say check the stats from the 1st ODC.
AKS: How did you come up with the name Mousegazm?
mGZM.deebS: We were talking during a scrim about how someone’s aim (not naming him because it would embarrass him) used to shake when he got excited. Threw some words around and the word Mousegazm came out. Then when we sat in vent thinking of a team name it was the best name we could come up with.
AKS: As well as your CEVO aspirations, does Mousegazm plan to LAN?
mGZM.deebS: Yes definitely, national events we will attend. As for local LAN’s everyone is far too spread out. SubNoize and I are both from Sydney, Jabz, Meki and Zoltan are from Queensland and Wartype is from Melbourne.
